Ca pt. Robert "Bob" Rommell Sr. was the first captain of the "old"
Tiny Bubbles when she pulled into Frankfort Harbor, brand new in 1974. Under the
ownership of Don Beyette, Capt. Bob ran the boat until Mr. Beyette sold the boat
to Capt. Robert Rommell Jr.Capt. Robert continued to run the boat (sometimes with his dad, Capt. Bob) When his son David turned 11 years old he was brought on as full-time deck hand. When Dave turned 20, in 2002, he completed his captain training with the USCG and purchased the boat from his father. Captains Dave and Robert continued the Tiny Bubbles tradition on the original Tiny Bubbles, the 32 foot Luhrs, for several years. |
In August of 2009, Capt. Dave and his wife Amanda purchased the "new" Tiny
Bubbles, a beautiful, nearly new, 36 foot Tiara, as shown below. Though it was hard
to watch the old ship go, the comfort and fishability of the new Tiny Bubbles is
great, and the crew and guests alike enjoy the many creature comforts of this beautiful
boat. Dave, Amanda, and daughter Noelle get ready to launch the new Tiny Bubbles when it first arrives in Frankfort, July of 2009. |
